Abstract

The introduction of new technologies for buses in the different land transport systems represents a great opportunity for the academy, opening up space for applied research that evaluates from different angles the factors that are part of the processes and the consequences that may implicitly come hand in hand with these. With this, a review of general aspects linked to the connection and first year of operation of the articulated bus with electric technology in the BRT Massive transport system Metroplus of Medellín, Colombia. The KF1 model electric bus arrived in Medellín in February 2018, but it started operating in the BRT system until April of the same year, since then it has been monitoring the operation variables, in order to give a concept based on the methodology of technical and economic evaluation of projects proposed by Karen Mokate. At the end of the first 10 months, evidence can be taken, which, although not entirely conclusive, allows the issuance of a favorable evaluation concept for the operation of this type of vehicle in a mass transit system such as that of the city of Medellín.
