Abstract

The Amazonian part of Caquetá is a strategic zone for armed groups. Their presence in this area, in addition to generating social and humanitarian problems, has caused environmental damage by exploiting the area’s natural resources for their own benefit. A clear example is that this area in particular has an extensive water network, the Caguán River, which is a strategic route for drug trafficking, both fluvial and terrestrial, which is why, among many other aspects, this project focused on this place, which paradoxically has a great biodiversity but has been a central axis of the serious environmental damage that this large part of the western Amazon has suffered for decades.
