Abstract

Damage to the planet is due to natural and anthropic processes that contribute to polluting substances that are not easily assimilated by environmental components, so the community must act from the identification of activities and their effects on the environment to contribute to the damage control. From this perspective, this text arises from the environmental diagnosis research project at the Los Libertadores University Foundation based on the analysis of the Sustainable University Indicators (RISU) and attached to the line of research on globalization and sustainable development. The research used RISU´s indicators; the researchers analyzed environmental teaching and training, environmental research and technology, environmental extension and projection, and environmental management and ordering. Regarding the indicators of evaluation of university sustainability policies, these arise from a research project of the RISU that seeks to evaluate the commitment towards environmental sustainability. The ecological performance evaluation was established employing 25 questions that allowed assessing the sustainability of the Los Libertadores University Foundation. When considering the application of the 25 questions, it is evident that in the Los Libertadores University Foundation, compliance is 66.7%. The teaching and training aspect is in the lowest percentage with an average of 55.5 %. It is concluded that the projection towards university sustainability is on the way.
