Transboundary transport of dangerous substances: a growing and irremediable phenomenon

Abstract

Although hazardous waste is generated in all societies regardless of their development (domestic or industrial applications such as sewage, municipal solid waste, by-products of manufacturing, waste and industrial discharges, etc.). The strong economic growth that has occurred in recent decades in many countries, especially those known as developed countries (United States, European Union, Japan, etc.) has increased production of waste from industrial processes. In this article, the evolution of the concept of region in each countries block will be analyzed, also will be discuss the relationship between geopolitics and globalization for understate the dynamics between developed and developing countries. Finally, how the processes of globalization have alienated the sense of territorial belonging in developing countries will be analyzed.
